Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.) What did the Australians do in ww2 and other conflicts? ![]() | Steven, the 2nd Cameronions were in the 13th Infantry Brigade of the Eighth Army and took part in Operation Husky in July/August 1943. this was the campaign to capture the island of Sicily by the Allies from the Axis forces. You need to get his Army record to confirm where he served. If he did serve in Sicily he was involved in the Lemon Bridge action with the German Group Schmalz. A good book on Husky is Bitter Victory by Carlo D'Este (1988) This is'nt much info but might help. Colin. |
