Now tell us about the P51?? Tell us about this one, the real one that is!
Interestingly enough my grandfather gave me a book called "Flying Aces" earlier this year and looking through it yesterday I found that it features this exact airplane! Flown by commander of the 78th FG Col. J. D. Landers was built in Inglewood, CA in Jan. 1945. Flew in the 8th Air Force's 78th FG at AAF Station Duxford. The red and white checkerboard scheme is that of the 78th. Flying this plane between 22 February and 28 June 1945 Landers shot down at least 2 Bf 109's and a Me 262!
