Help needed

Any of you folks out there know of a site/place where I can buy a 1/35 French Renault tank for WWI? Plenty of 1/72 stuff. but nothing larger.
Thanks in advance.

This is the full 1/35 scale WW1 kit list from the ever excellent Landships site. It should be your first port of call for WW1 armour.

Afternoon folks,

I'm looking for a simple guide to British armour markings WWII, something on the level of an Osprey book would be about right. I have tried navigating the Osprey website but it is very difficult to search. Can anybody recommend a simple source for me?

Thanks,

CS

Webwise you could do worse than armoured acorn H:

Or is it more the tactical markings you're after?
If so, those Histoire Collections 'British Soldier in Normandy' are pretty clear and go into some depth (though only for '44 onwards).
BT White's 'British Tank Markings' is pretty good, if somewhat long in the tooth and fetching slightly silly prices for a slim volume.

Thanks, A, those are useful. To put it in context, I am looking for info on the markings and colours of lend-lease Matildas and Valentines. Most photos of the subjects are monochrome but many show what appear to be WD numbers where the usual T prefix number would normally be seen on the hull side.

Capt Sensible -
" a lend lease Matilda or Valentine " - I learn something new every day for which I am truly thankful - sorry don't have anything like that - all I have is the Tank markings of units in the Italian campaign which might help

I'm guessing you've already tried it H, but that 'Engines of the Red Army' lend-lease site is usually pretty accurate & has some nice illustrations of those 2 under 'foreign armour'.

There's some good figures on there too Tom, if your interest in Russian Matildas and Valentines is piqued:
Numbers sent - tanks.

VP - It was the Churchill's that we gave away which rankled - it's no wonder we didn't have enough of them !
