![]() | The research goes on Owen, your right in what you say, but who's to say that after the fall of Tobruk he wasn't transfered to another Division I guess without this guys military records we'll never know. Trooper R Smith 7896132 C Squadron 7th RTR Middle East Force The Mention in Dispatches cert mentions the Royal Armoured Corps and Royal Armoured Regiment and is issued to Lance Corporal R Smith so somewhere along the line he was promoted. The description on the back of the Grant tank picture states after the Battle of Medenine (March 1943) so maybe he was part of the 22nd Amoured Brigade. What Divisions were using the Grant? or were most Divisions at the time using them? I have pictures and telegraphs from a guy while fighting in the Middle East transfered 3 times so is wasn't unusual. I guess a little more research is needed. Cheers Kieron
