![]() | Saltby,UK. US 61st TCS, C-47's, Q9, 1943-46 Trying to find info, history, pictures on my dad. PFC, Manuel (Manny) J Silva, 38283840, US 8th Airmy Air Corps., Airplane & Engine Mechanic 747 (C-47), 314th TCG, 61st TCS, Q9, at Saltby Airfield, England from 18 Oct 43 to 9 Dec 45. I know that he was there on D-day. I believe British paratroopers were on his C-47's, Q9 planes that morning. After that time he was in France and Germany. Not certain when he left Saltby for France. Don't know much about what the 61st TCS did in Europe after D-Day. Thank you very much for any info you can share. Would like to know names of members who were on his ground crew. Kind regards, Manny Jr. mannisilva@aol.com, call collect 619-420-5456 ![]() |
