Map of Arras region, 1940?

I am writing an article about Lt. the Hon. Christopher Furness, V.C., Welsh Guards, who was killed in action a short distance north-east of Arras on 24th May, 1940.

Does anyone know where I can find a contemporary large-scale map of the area?

You could try this excellent French site.
http://www.atf40.fr/ATF40/
They have a map (cartes) section, at the top.

Hmm, just looked at them and they aren't up to much, I'm afraid.

I'd ask the IGN themselves.
IGN - The National Map Library - one and a half million maps

How urgently do you need the map? I have a German 1940 map of the Arras area- somewhere. Might take me a week or two to fish it out.

That sounds perfect! Could you send a scan of the area from Arras north and east? There's no rush. I'll send my e-mail address in a P.M.

Bodston's just contacted me with a similar problem Belville.
Am looking into it.

Cheers,
Adam.

Your subscription type was set to subscribe but with no email notification Belville, I've reset it to 'receive instant' which people can do themselves by using the User CP.
UserCP> Edit options> Default thread subscription mode.

This may solve the problem for you, but as Bodston's was set to the correct kind I'm not so sure (Unless he's changed it since contacting me... he is on a provider that I know can be a bit severe with what it calls spam so I'm not entirely sure the problem's are connected).

I'll keep digging about. Can anyone else tell me if they have a problem as well, if this is down to some general setting we've altered that affects all then obviously I apologise but I can't think of anything and could do with a little more indication of whether it's widespread or not in order to sort it out.

Cheers,
Adam.

Oops, I thought I had. Sorry.

However....... I didn't receive an e-mail about Adam's reply, up to an hour later.
