Thanks George, and thanks to the Stephensons for letting you share it.
Not only a good read but hopefully it'll prove interesting to anyone else who comes along researching the life of a POW.

Great stuff,
Adam.

Excellent thread George, as I said before, not one for us to constantly comment on but more of a place to record this story.
Great work, and please say Thank You to the Stephenson family.

George,

Been to Kew today. Fought off all the old researchers fighting over the books and copiers and now have a copy of Jame's Liberation questionaire.

Camps were:-
Dulag Luft, Frankfurt 17th October 1941 to 20th October 1941
Stalag VIIIB, Samsdorf 22nd October 1941 to 27th May 1942
SL III Sagan, 27th May 1942 to 10th June 1943.
SL VI Heydercrug 12th June 1943 to 17th July 1944
Stalag 357 Thorn 18th July 1944 to 8th August 1944
Stalag 357 Fallingbostal 10th August 1944 to 16 April 1945.

As David said, same route as my Father, Kenneth Fenton.

Under escapes he has written:-
Oct 16th on train to Dulag Luft. Not successful, stopped by German Soldier when guards slepy.
July 1942 by tunnel underground tunnel discovered before completion.

I will post a copy when able.

Researched 75 Squadron ORB's and found James but unable to beat the little old lady off the only working phoyocopier.

Going to body building and Judo lessons now so will try harder next time.

Regards,

Nick

Nick said "unable to beat the little old lady off the only working phoyocopier."

I understand that you can now use digital cameras!

David,

Now there lies another problem.

With three boys winding up their Mother, l am lucky enough to get out of the house on my own, never mind remembering to take the camera.

But you are right, it is all change down there. Everything has moved apart from the little old ladies.

Thank you for the thread, George. Reading Mr. Stephenson's words brought his experiences to life. As others have said thank his wife and son for being willing to share these treasures here. What a great way to start of my reading on this Forum.

Regards,
Michelle
