No takers? This was the Martin Baker Mb5.
Built in 1944 as an advanced 400 mph plus fighter, it failed to get any interest from the Air Ministry. A fine aircraft, but with the Vampire and Meteor already operational and the Supermarine Swift already on the drawing board, interest had turned to jets.
The company went on to specialise in ejection seats.

Of course the ejector seat guys. I knew I'd seen it before. Lovely thing. There is a good display of their output at the museum at RAF Cosford. I was still Googling... What engine is that? is it too early for the Griffon?

any more?...im just noticing all these great quizes....nobody bothers to answer mine, so I thought i might look at exactly what sort of quiz you guys like...hmmm...i don't know how to post pictures...so any quiz i make will be all words...
