Another tank that gets a mention in that report belonged to Sgt Lines' tank (he was a pre-war regular and a Desert Rat)
Record says his tank had one oblique penetration into the extreme left-hand side of the front drive which disintegrated the gear box; a similar penetration on the top of the hull front just below the hinge of the driver's hatch; and a scoop on the turret roof. The tank burst into flames and the crew abandoned it.

Here are two sample images from the report.
EDIT Which I will now remove as I'm not sure about copyright.

Sounds like some remarkable detail there. Some incidents/names mentioned seem familiar to me, but it would need a trawl through several biblography lists to find out if the same sources were used. Interesting book though.

themonsstar is an unknown quantity at this point
Another book with good info on Tank Crews cas, is "Sherwood Rangers" Casualty Book 1944-1945, by Revd, Leslie Skinner Chaplain 8th Armd Bde att Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry Regt.
The book is copy of his original hand written notebook covering the Regt from 6th June 1944 - 17th May 1945.

In the book it covers wounds & burials at the back of the book are details of all temporary Burials with maps.

Now that also sounds really interesting as he's the Chaplain referred to in Stuart Hills' 'By Tank Into Normandy'. He comes across as one of the real heroes of their unit, performing burials under fire and not allowing the men to help with recovering remains from tanks as he felt they'd were seeing quite enough unpleasantness.
Skinners book seems to be on Amazon... £7, oh dear, now I'll have to find something else to reach the £15 post-free point... clever Amazon.

Thanks for the tip Monsstar.
Cheers,
Adam.

ADM199 will become famous soon enoughADM199 will become famous soon enough
Not a problem as I spent two days at T.N.A. What I did tell Owen though is that there is a great deal more text to the file. All the photos and diagrams are on the disc, but there is a lot more to copy.
