  | Belgian Cegesoma archive. In The Great Mistake by Peter Beale are photos from the IWM collection and the Cegesoma collection in Belgium. Here, CEGESOMA Now I'm trying to look at their on-line image bank and can get no-where. Ther are some excellent photos of the liberation of Antwerp in the book from there and I'd like to see more. Can some show this dim-wit how to do it? Some images from the book are CS 28760, Cs 28766, CS 28389, CS 28794 among others. |

| OK it works in French, not English. Yes Kyt that's it, OK got it working now. Ta. Ah, doesn't work when I put catalogue number in. Found some good photos of Shermans though. Last edited by Owen; 25-05-2007 at 11:59 PM. |

| OK. For everyone else, to search photos go to "Image Bank" (on the left side menu). Then, tick the "Photothèque" on the right box. If you know a photo number, tick "N° Image" on the left box (but leave out "CS")

| Interesting archive Owen. I typed in my one word of French, 'Char' and got a big bunch of hits, not worked through them all yet. Peter Beale tends to dwell on disaster. I have his "Death by Design" his take on British tank development in WW2. Is the book you mention about Monty's failure to effectively capture the Scheldt estuary and approaches to Antwerp early enough for it to be useful. If so I must track down a copy. I have read "Battle for Antwerp" by J.L. Moulton and apart from some peculiar photo captions it was an enjoyable enough read. I have a real interest in 21st Army Group's advance along the Channel coast.
