Volunteers from Eire who have won distinctions ...

... serving with the British Forces

FROM LISTS PUBLISHED IN MARCH & NOVEMBER, 1944

Thanks to ADM199 for his continued generosity, this time in passing on images of these publications, I will be posting up the full transcribed text in relation to the following awards - for all branches of the Forces, including for those serving in the Home front.

In most cases a citation is given along with a brief biog and/or details of place of birth or residence. A number of individuals have very little detail noted however. Please note that this list is not a complete one for the War, as the last publication included awards given up to November 1944.

An alphabetical list appears here in this thread, but each individual will get a thread devoted to information about them, unless otherwise stated. Links to other threads will be noted against the names below for handy reference and for a while details here will be continuously updated.

I would ask those like-minded members to add anything they can to the individual threads by way of specifics or background, as I think it would be of great help to others studying individuals, units and campaigns. As can be imagined, the citations cover a wide spread of theatres and campaigns, so there should be an opportunity for everyone to dust off their memories, or to check source material please. Every little helps.

As can be seen there are quite a number: if anyone wants a citation posted up sooner, please let me know.

Many thanks in advance for any help.
Regards
