Gibbo will become famous soon enough
The current Glasgow Airport is near Paisley & was formerly an RAF base called Abbotsinch. I'm not sure of the date that it changed from military to civilian use but it was probably late 50s or early 60s.

Hi,
According to 'Action Stations' Vol 7 D. J. Smith. There were four stations in the Glasgow area: Abbotsinch; Greenock [Docks][Flying-boat Maintenance Base Oct,1940;Helensburgh and Renfrew.

Regards
Arthur

I would like to point out that Abbotsinch became a Fleet Air Arm station (HMS Sanderling) from 20-09-43 after a period where the FAA had lodger facilities.
