![]() | Military vehicle wanted Greetings from Ireland. I am interested of buying a military vehicle. I am openminded as to era or type but I would prefer if it was located in Ireland or can be sent here. Anything small like a landrover or willies that can fit into my small garage. Any era really but no later than 1975 and must be in great conditon and not require 'doing up' as I am not good at the at sort of thing. I had a look on Surplus Military Vehicle prices and picked out a Gaz 69a Jeep which was listed for 4500 euro but when I enquired it had shot up to £5500 which is almost double. This does not fill me with confidence. I am gettind rid of my militaria stuff and getting re-enactment or just posing at vintage rallies and Military displays. If anyone knows of a suitable vehicle I would be interesed in the details. Any comments are most welcome. Kind regards. Tom in Tipperary, Ireland |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi Tom, I assume you buy Military Vehicles international etc.? The small ads in the back always thicken up as the summer gets closer and their priceguides show highest and lowest recent prices paid. I know most people start looking on Milweb but it could be worth contacting/joining the MVT for the latest information on what's for sale. Sure I've read a past post of yours where you mention Beltring? Has to be one of the busiest sale-rooms for MVs, certainly full of people who could help, don't think IMPS technically runs it these days but I know I've seen ads on their website before. I think Austin Champs used to fit the pricerange but I've got a feeling they've gone up recently... (was offered a PT76 recently for £2.5k... real mess though) Good luck anyway, rather jealous ,Cheers, Adam.

![]() | Hello Adam. Yes I posted the same query in the past and I had a few 'near misses' but nothing suitable. I find the main problem is getting answers to specific questions about the vehicles. The important ones may be ignored even when I ask twice. I looked at an Austin Champ just last week, she was a beaut but was sold before I could nail it. My real wish is to be able to buy one here in Ireland. That way I would be spared the headache of transport. I have not even heard of Military Vehicles international but if it is in Easons the next time I am in I will get it. I have never seen it here before. I was on milweb and am still trawling though it. Thats where i seen the Austin Champ. I have also contaced the Irish MVCI here and they are keeping a look out for me. Who knows who might read this and have what I am looking for. Kind regards. Tom.; |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Shows around Ireland. Tom, Presuming you're already aware of these but in case they somehow slip past your radar I've just noted 2 decent sized vehicle shows in Ireland soon; One is a multi-period reenactment at Duncannon Fort in Wexford from the 2nd to the 4th of June, looks like more of a reenactment show but it's organised by the Munster Military Vehicle group so there might be some leads to follow? The other is perhaps more interesting as it's the MVCI's (quite a few Irish shows advertised there) main show, 12th & 13th of May at the Curragh, the 12th is members only but the 13th is public opening. Looks like a big one with plenty of potential deals to be done? Cheers, Adam
