![]() | British Desert Rat WW2 Medals Hi, Does anybody know if WW2 war medals that were awared to a British Desert Rats (serving with the Queen's Royal Regiment) would have had the soildiers name or any other details engraved on them? My granddads war medals were lost unfortunately and I was thinking of buying something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GROUP-OF-6-MED...QQcmdZViewItem, which is what he got, but I was always put off by the fact they would have another soldiers name engraved on them. However I happened to ask the seller of these if they had a name engraved on them and he replied that they didn't, because they are British medals and only south african, canadian and australians put the names on second world war medals as far as he knows. Is this true? Thanks Allie |
