My old History teacher.

Was wondering today about my old history teacher from Penhill Secondary School, Swindon when I was there ,1979-82.
He was Mr Lowery (or was it Lowry?)
He was in Bomber Command and postwar flew Vulcans.
I think he was decorated, not sure though.
Any RAF types able to shed any light on him?
Long shot I know but he might be listed somewhere.
Just wondered what he might have done and if he's still about.

Owen,

Can you recall your history teachers first name, there are quite a few Lowery's and Lowry's listed in the London Gazette.

Owen have you tried friendsreunited.com? A lot of teachers are listed there so perhaps one of the younger ones might know more about his RAF service.

I understand it's now free to contact other members of the site.

friendsreunited is now free to contact others??? About time too.

Owen have you tried contacting your school? Perhaps some staff members might remember him or have details?

The school doesn't exist & friendsreunited is useless.

My History Teacher threw me out of class when I was 15 because I laughed at the idea of laying mines between the opposing trenches in WW1.
