Fusilier Brewer

My uncle Fusilier Edward Brewer 4204990, 12th Bn RWF died on Sat 12 April 1941. It is said within the family he was killed whilst on exercise somewhere in Yorkshire. My mother has written to the Army Records Centre but that was approx two years ago, no reply as yet. Would welcome any information that will help.

Thanks in advance
Roy

Might I suggest another letter to the records office but this time, at the bottom of the letter, write "Copies to "XXXXX" (your local MP) & "XXXXXX" (a local newspaper).
This has been known to work on the odd occasion.

Regards

Ron

Thanks for the tip Ron, will give it a go. What I find strange with the Army is they will supply a soldiers records to his spouse for free yet they charge NOK [sister, brother, daughter, son, etc] £30. That really angers me.

For your interest, I received a reply from the museum curator. Info supplied by the museum states Fusilier Brewer was part of an Home Defence battalion, no War Diary was kept by the 12th RWF. I will try for his service records.

Thanks to all
