STEVEN is an unknown quantity at this point
Charlie was in the Royal Artillery, service no.880035,and he was captured by the Japanese in Malaya in 1942.None of the documents i have tell me what Battalion he was in,just that he was in the Royal Artillery.

Can anyone tell me from his service number alone or from the fact he was in Malaya, what Battalion he was in ??.

The current cost and waiting time for this info from his service file is £25.00 and 6 months !!.

Steven

Steven.

Unfortunately, all that can be gleened from his service number is the fact that the Royal Artillery was also the first unit he joined. His number lies in the "block" allocated to the "R.A." (all branches) and doesn't diffrentiate between units. (RA number block - 721001 to 1842000).
