Help please, my late grandfather WILLIAM HENRY GREY served with the 13th Air Formation Signals from D Day plus 3 serving in France and Holland. We know very little about his service as he would never talk about the War. What I do know amounts to:

Left handed and flat footed he was conscripted in his forties.
He arrived in Normandy on D Day plus 3
He once had extremely long walk in Holland to "collect the post" and on return was stopped by an Officer in a car who wanted to chat with "one of the boys" Granddad was extremely annoyed that the Officer didnt offer him a "lift" The Officer was Monty!
He remembered in Holland watching the doodlebugs going over and being concerned as to safety of his family in London
He was with the troops who entered Belsen

Thats all we know! Would anyone be able to tell me more about his unit, its movements etc. I have tried the Royal Signals but they want £30 and cannot guarantee any info. I dont begrudge paying but not for no guarantees!

Don't know, but welcome to the board and thank you for your family's service to Crown and Country.
