![]() | help with ww1 and ww2 navy info regarding my dad and grandfather. first my dad ;i recently got a victory at sea record album,this one has a booklet attached inside and their is a photo that i'm 99% sure is my dad!!if anyone knows how i could find out what ship;year;anything i would be just thrilled to death!!or if anyone has a copy or might know where to get one i'd be glad to buy it.thanx!!!also im looking for my grandfathers(& dads)naval service records from ww1 and 2 respectively,my dad served on the portland,'43 -'46 and grandad on the utah and also on a sub. as he was achief torpedo man and a deep sea diver too.any info would be great ;thanx again. sweet pea |

![]() | Hi there , i am not too familiar with US record admin,but a quick google would suggest that this is a good place to start with our fathers/grandfathers service record :- Military Service Records and Official Military Personnel Files (OMPFs, DD Form 214, DD-214, DD214 Again i cant say how much detail you will be able to obtain,but it certainly is a good place to start.
