RAMC Sicily 1943

As you know my granda served in the RAMC. My question is did they come directly over from North Africa or did they come from UK via North Africa. Also could you tell me what regiment he was attched to.

Read this the other day when I was posting info on Husky for Steven7.
It seems it was the Canadians came from the UK, the 8th army was spread over the Middle East.
