Battle of Okinawa Veterans

Hello, about 6 months ago while I was on leave back in the States, I had a conversation with my Grandfather. He told me about his cousin being killed on the landing at Okinawa. Since I'm stationed on Okinawa, I told him about the memorial that was built to remember those fallen during the battle. When my family and I returned we drove down to "Peace Memorial Park" and retrieved a rubbing of the name along with a few pictures. Needless to say, my family truly appreciated this jester.
Long story short, I've created a website to request name rubbings of friends and family that fell during the battle. I stated researching, and I couldn't believe that out of the 50K soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines, that no one has set anything like this up. The website and service is free. Please check out the site, and send it to your friends and family that might be interested. http://www.memorialrubbings.org
I'm just an Airman trying to help other veterans

Welcome to the forum!

Great idea!

Many people collect photos of headstones/memorials around the world. I personally collect photos of headstones /memorials of RAAF deaths in ww2. Many of the members on this forum have collected photos in the UK & Europe for me.

These will be available free to whoever wants them.

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

What did the Australians do in ww2 and other conflicts? Check out this site:
