B M. Mathers DFC. pow. P/O. B A. Pullin DFC. + F/S. J T. Broad. + F/S. W R C. Parfitt. + F/S. K. Archibald. + The aircraft took off at 2205 hrs from Little Staughton. Probably intercepted by a night-fighter, whose fire set light to both starboard engines. Spun and partially abandoned. Those who died rest in Rheinberg War Cemetery. F/L. Trotter RCAF had flown at least 41 sorties. Bomber Command Losses Vol.5. W R. Chorley.
