Hello all. I must confess that I am really a genealogist who has become interested in WW2 material - not least since my late father-in-law was in the 4th Ox & Bucks LI at Cassel, after which he was a POW in Laufen, Posen, Biberach, Warburg, Eichstätt and Moosburg. He took part in the Biberach tunnelling operation - see Michael Duncan, Underground from Posen (1954).

Regards
Tom

to the forum Tom.

It certainly was an outstanding rearguard action by the Ox & Bucks and Gloucesters. On a clear day the view from the top of Mont Cassel is brilliant, you certainly get a good view of the 1940 battlefield.

Here's some photos I took on a visit to Cassel earlier this year.
