My great uncle

My Great Unlce who lived in Poland during ww2, was going to be forced to join the occupying German forces after the invasion. Rather than fight amongst the Germans he and some of his friends escaped. They used hollow reeds to breath, because they were travling in an empty gasoline tank that was on a railroad car. When they got to the border, they were met by guard dogs and german soldiers armed with search lights. When my uncle was interrogated they knocked all his front teeth out with a buttof there rifle. He was sent to a camp somewere in the East. They worked on a railroad, were they built tracks. Before the spring they would put snow under the tracks instead of dirt, so when it warmed up it would melt and the train would go off the tracks. He was freed and joined the Polish army as a tank commander. I will try to get more details and repost.
