Gnomey will become famous soon enough
Battlefield 1942, Call of Duty (any one of the series) or the Medal of Honour series.

Unless you've already played it, i'd recommend Day of Defeat.

I see you have footer for the 101st.

You might want to try the brother in arms, which follow a more truer version of things compared to COS or MOH. Much better game too.

Aye! Brothers in Arms sounds right up your street. You play a member of the 502 PIR. (I think).

Yeah you do, In my opinion the game isn't as fun as call of duty because its a little slower paced. More realistic though.

Any battle or bombing raid has absolute moral indifference- a powerful beauty. and a true war story will tell the truth about this, though the truth is ugly

Singleplayer: Call of Duty. I prefer CoD 2.
Medal of Honor. Pacific Assault is my favourite.
Brothers In Arms

Multiplayer: Day of Defeat Source, no question about it.

I've said before and I'll say it again.

Medal of Honour: Vanguard for the PS2. Absolute quality. The best in my opoinion of them all. You're a member of the 82nd dropping on operations Husky, Neptune (but this one you're in a glider), Market Garden and Varsity (my favourite). The sound FX are the best yet, along with visual FX, but the best thing of all is that, unlike COD, you can turn that horrible music off.

Go and buy it.
