![]() ![]() | Day of Defeat is blood hard Just spent the last half hour trying to storm Omah beach on Day of Defeat and I just have to say I was well and truly defeated. It's just too intense. I'm lucky if I can get past the first Hedgehog. The fact I had 24 deaths and only 1 kill says it all. But it's still so addictive. Just wondered if any other forum goers are partial to a game of Day of Defeat now and then? Day Of Defeat Marcus |

![]() | Is that an 'on-line' only game? Not fond of those.

![]() ![]() | Aye I think so. Why aren't you fond of 'em? Makes it more realistic than one man against the whole German army. You get a sense of just how dangerous combat is. Running round a corner, you can look one way or another. Make the wrong choice and you're a gonner. Aquality game. marcus |

![]() | Are you playing 1.3 or Source? I've played Day of Defeat for 3 years, and when Day of Defeat Source came out I switched to that. Well dod_charlie as I suppose the map you are referring to is called (if it's version 1.3) is quite uneven balanced as it is meant to be as realistic and brutal as it really was on d-day. I'm not really fun of public servers, I tend to play clanwars instead.

![]() | The Omaha map was called dod_charlie in version 1.3 and in source it's called dod_strand. But it's actually one of my favorite public maps, based on the realism in it.

![]() | Nonetheless it's a great game. I even think the map is much harder in 1.3 than in source based on the sniper in 1.3 is so overpowered. But if you want more realism you should really invest in DoD:Source, if your computer can handle it ![]()

![]() | You can download DoD 1.3 for free but you have to purchase Source through steam, it's costs 20$ I think. I tend to play some CoD2 from time to time, it's lots of fun too.
