Panzerblitz ?

I know I'm dating myself with this one, but does anyone here have or have you played Avalon Hill's "Panzerblitz"? It's a board game using boards with hexagonal squares and small cardboard unit tokens. A friend of mine got a copy in the early 1970's and we played it quite a bit.

With computer games coming of age in the 1980s, games like these disappeard from the scene. Avalon Hill disappeared along with some other similar games they produced.

I found a copy of it in a bookstore about 20 years ago. Still have it and play with it with my son. Or by myself.

If this has been covered previously, forgive me. I did a search and didn't get any hits.

I have it still and used to play it and it's counterpart, Panzer Leader. It's been a good 15 years since I opened the boxes.

I still have a good many AH games.
Diplomacy (which I have never played-moved away from friends who would have played it with me)
Squad Leader, and it's add-ons, but not ASL and about 8-quinzillion counters
Wooden Ships/Iron Men. I liked this one a lot-easy to PBEM, if I remember.
Fortress Europa
Outdoor Survival
Acquire- My daughter likes this one
Some others I can't recall that are packed away.

Time to go take a look, Slip!

I have found a few sites that offer different counters for download and printing for Panzerblitz and Panzer Leader. Pretty interesting to see the Churchill and General Grant tanks compare to German and Russian counterparts.

I had Storm Over Arnhem.
Only played it a few times.
The Germans always won.

Also had "Car Wars" and "One Page Bulge" by Steve Jackson Games.

I used to play a lot of the AH/SPI etc games. Still have them in the loft at my parents somewhere!

I have asked Santa for something from this lot this year, as it all looks rather good, especially the A&A Minis range:
