![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You're never too old to wargame - read some of the classic wargame books of the 70s and 80s to see that!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I used to when I was younger. I had a unit based on the Matchbox ANZACs. Beautiful little models.I used them with my own rules as a British platoon in Burma. I called them "The Wessex Rifles". Had hours of fun. Even kept a War diary for them with names, promotions , casualties, replacements etc. That was before I knew real units kept war diaries. I wish I'd kept the models and the diaries. it would be fun to look back on them. What is strange now is the new unit to be created in the modern British Army of west country units is to be called THE RIFLES. I thought of that 26 years ago! |

You chose dishonor and you will have war." (Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.) What did the Australians do in ww2 and other conflicts?
