Restored Me109 G6 in flight

YouTube - Messerschmitt 109 G

Whatever you may think about the Luftwaffe I still think the 109 is a beautiful aircraft.

Andy in West Oz is an unknown quantity at this point
Oh wow. Love that turbo whistle, shivers up the spine and lump in the throat!

I think that 109 is the one owned and operated in Germany by the Messerschmitt Foundation (I think they have another 109 and one of the new 262s as well). If I recall correctly, she's actually a Spanish built HA-1112 Buchon that has been re-engineered to take the DB instead of a Merlin. This is starting to sound a bit too "anorakky" (!) so I'll leave it at that and go and savour the sounds of a DB-powered Me again! LOL.

Cheers

Andy
