![]() | Need help keeping a project histoically acurate Well im working on a project, a video game mod, based on WWII fighter plane combat. I want to keep this historically accurate. I was googleing around but was having trouble finding resources that were clear. Could you guys provide some resources or your own knowledge about airplanes that were primarily used in combat? |

German & Italian V British, US & Russian Japanese V British & US Predominantly depends on the theatre and the years. These need to correlate.

You chose dishonor and you will have war." (Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.) What did the Australians do in ww2 and other conflicts? ![]() | Read as widely as you can on the periods of the air war you mention. It'll give you a good feel of what was going on and help you understand the development of the aircraft you want to feature. RAF fighters in Western Europe after D-Day: Spitfires, Mustang IIs (I think, have seen RAF P-51Bs and Cs with D-Day stripes), Mosquitoes, Beaufighters, Typhoons, Tempests, um... RAF fighters in Italy/Mediterranean at same time: Spits, Hurricanes, Beaufighters, Kittyhawks (P-40E etc), Mustangs (only ever seen pics of Mk IVs/P-51D/Ks and they were RAAF), um... Navy against Japan in 44/45: Hellcats mainly then also Corsairs from late 44/early 45. USMC also flew both from memory but mainly Corsairs. USN bombers as well - SB2C Helldivers, Avengers. Royal Navy was also there: Seafires, Fireflies. I think they had Avengers by then as well, maybe Barracudas. Luftwaffe in Europe - single engine fighters were Me 109s and Fw 190s. Navy against Japan would have encountered Japanese Naval and Army aircraft - Zero, George etc etc. Lots of cool Japanese stuff towards the end of the war! This is all off the top of my head at work so there'll be holes!
