Most Aircraft Built!

While not all WW2, I found these quantities interesting.

List of most produced aircraft: Information from Answers.com

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

That's annoying. For Spitfires, it gives a figure of 24,351 but I can only account for 22,964, including Seafires and deliveries to USSR etc. I seem to have lost 1400!!

Your joking - it's hard enough double checking the information that I've already got (bloody typical isn't it that no two sources can agree!).

Just as well I'm not interested in the Me109 - there the range from 28000 to 37000!!

Whilst manufacture should be more definitive, I have always found the human mortality counts confusing to say the least.

Yes, I just accept that it was many many millions (which is enough as a sobering guestimate).

Problem with aircraft is lack of records, especially for German planes. And the fact that they rebuilt new aircraft from two or more damaged ones.
