Inside A B-17G

Got this footage inside the B-17G "Aluminum Overcast" from YouTube. It was from last year's EAA's in South Carolina.

Some great footage Arlo, that's a hell of a view from the nose-cone.

Thanks.

It was an interesting find.

I wish they would have put more scenes on where the bombardier and chin gunner were.

Thanks - Great stuff!

One scene is labelled "view of the cockpit from the Navigator's seat" but is clearly looking forward from the centre section of the aircraft. Wouldn't this be the radio operator's seat (especially as there appears to be a wireless set mounted on the bulkhead)?

Weren't the Navigator and Bombardier together in the nose, with the bombardier operating the chin turret?

In 1994, I had the honor of flying in the Collings Foundations B17G "9-0-9".

The view from the nose was incredible. Especially since we were flying over the Los Angles harbor and port area.
