Kyt is a bit shady
Well, the picture claims to be a scramble during the BoB but:

1) 2 blade prop?
2) the aircraft aren't being revved up
3) the relaxed manner of the by-stander
4) the flying overalls
5) they are all carrying their parachutes
6) some are "running" with their face-masks on! They'd have collapsed.

Unfortunately, I can't find the original picture source so I can't attest to its real caption or date but I reckon the picture is taken in sometime in 1939.

The attached photo was taken in April 1940, it was the norm at that time to wear ones parachute in readiness, but it was soon standard practice to leave parachutes in the cockpit or on the wing and hang helmets on the control column or the gunsight.

The ageless Few were sweeping by

Kitty is an unknown quantity at this point
Also the Brill Cream Boys tended to wear their uniform jackest with the top button undone to differentiate themselves from the Baron Boys.
