Stuff me drunk! There I was thinking I'd much rather the 115 to keep out of the elements (or shut your canopy!) and then the engine falls off! Didn't quite catch how it happened. Did the prop dig in or just a structural failure from the pitching?

Arado Ar 196.

Quite a powerfull little aircaft.

Armament consisted of.. Two 15.1 mm MG 151 cannons, or two 20mm, MG 151/20 cannons; 2,204 lb bomb load (normal)

How terribly embarassing.
Great footage, but if the cameraman was in a boat rather than another plane he's a sod for not going to help .

Two of those little suckers shot down a 7 squadron stirling which was trying to radio in my Father's position. No survivors.
