Tobruk Harbour Oct 26th 1942

Hi all,

I have learned that my great uncle Bill of 38 squadron took part in the attack on Tobruk Harbour on the 26th Oct 1942. He was one of 3 Wellington torpeado bombers who attacked the group of ships and Bill's plane was reponsible for the sinking of the Tergestea with the ships crew of 80 all being lost. It was publicised as a turning point in the war as it was Rommels last supply ship? well does anyone have anymore information about this attack? I have also heard that it was big news in the papers? any pics or info of anything that may be of relevance.....

Many thanks, Donnie

The ageless Few were sweeping by
