Absorbing stuff, the remnants of the Operation Freshman heavy water raid and "The first B-17 'Flying Fortress' to be shot down in WWII" stood out for me, but they're all fascinating.
Nice one!

I was caught with the Luftwaffe page, and especially the FW200 because its a personal favourite aircraft of mine. In 1944-45 there was an awful lot of JU88 crashes.

I'm glad you said that, I hadn't even noted the Axis page.
One of those websites I'd cheerfully buy in book form.

Thanks for posting Kieron, I have used this site before.

This was an interesting page for me.

Stirling Sørkedalen

An Air Vice Marshall killed along with 23 others and two other crashes during Operation Doomsday.

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)
