Site relating to Captured german Aircraft

This site contains articles written about the performance of German Aircraft captured by the Soviets. Quite a good read . Was interested in the report on the FW200 Condor, which is how I came across the site.

Another great site from Russia. Far from just captured gear it's interesting on ww2 Aviation across the board.
I like the designer biographies and pilots notes, some excellent drawings of each type too.

Just looking at lend lease gear.
Can't get used to seeing Spits & Hurricanes in Soviet markings.
Doesn't look right.

Reading this about the Hurricanes.
Hurricane Mk.2 - Royal Air Force in WW2

Quote:
For five weeks the Soviet pilots successfully have mastered "Hurricanes", and the 151th wing have returned home. During fights the British pilots have brought down not less than 16 planes of the opponent, having lost only one (sergeant - pilot Djon Smith).
Just wondering who he was .
EDIT Excellent page about 151 Wing RAF in Russia
RAF Hurricanes in Russia

Quote:
The RAF casualty was Sgt N. Smith who was seen to have suffered damage behind the cockpit. Unable to bail out because the canopy rail was damaged, it is thought he attempting a crash landing on the inhospitable terrain and was subsequently killed. He was to be one of only two RAF pilots to be killed in action during WWII whilst operating from Russian soil and was buried in 'Cemetery of Soviet Heroes', overlooking Murmansk Sound.

Here he is.
