Yep thats me I am currently serving at RAF Honington.....

My dad is ex RAF too. He was Air Traffic!

Have you tried "Essex Airfield in the Second World War" by Graham Smith? Will have a look in my stack of bomber command books and see whether there are any 570 a/c especially the Bowyer book The Stirling Story....

Dee
Hello Dee , I eventually found some Stirling photos , Thanks for your input, I hope Honnington isnt too boring. I missed that one .I did 25 yrs, finished as FS and have now been out 16 yrs in May. Last tour was at Leuchars and I now live in that area.

Lucky you thats a nice part of the country... No Honington is not too boring as the Trainee Gunners ensure that no day is ever the same! Were you on the Tonkers?

Lets just say I did what I had to do, but thats now a distant memory. I live near Leuchars and its as dead as a dodo now , you hardly hear a jet.
The research goes on and I have collected a fair bit on my 570 Sqn Wireless op . If you want to see scans of his log book PM me your email and I will be happy to send it to you

Michael Bowyers book has pics of V8-L and the artowrk on E7-L,S on pages 296 & 297... In fact there are two V8 LK199 and LK150! There is also pics of LJ890 8E-L. It has a potted history for each plane aswell. Do you want me to photocopy and send as the pics arent good for scanning...
