In 2002 I discovered that the crew were buried in Bretigny-sur-Orge. After the memorial service at Longvilliers I was taken a few miles west to the Cemetery at Bretigny, cared for beautifully. There I paid my respects. My father passed away in 2000 before all these discoveries were known. I now feel honoured that I was able to pay respect for the 6 fallen for my dear father at long last. The memorial is right beside the field where MP-W came down at 0100 3 June 1944. The plane was trying to reach the coast after bombing the marshalling yards at Trappes west of Paris. It was flying on a westerly course approaching Eveaux when they were attacked by a German night fighter. My father, ?FSgt. Raymond Thomas Hood was the only survivor. I have some photos of the crew and the memorial service but do not know how to 'post' them.

Thanks for your PM.It is very pleasing that you were able to honour your father's crew at the Longvillier en Yvelines memorial service and at the cemetery.

I see you have ascertained that your father's aircraft was homeward bound when it was intercepted.

I am sure that all would be interested to see the photographs of the memorial service.It should be straight forward to post the photographs.

To post your photograph .Click on to "Manage Attachments"

Select "Upload your photograph(file)from your computer" by selecting the file that contains your photograph using "Browse".You might find it under "My Pictures" or "My Photos" depending on the software used to transfer the photographs from you camera to your computer.

Selecting the photograph.Some software may identify the individual photographs by a reference number which you will have to already have had to identified as the photograph you wish to post,others may give a thumbnail version of the photograph which is more simpler.

Finally click "Submit Reply"which should post your text and photographs.

This is the method that I feel should work although I am yet to try it.

I notice that there is a limit to the size of photograph.The photographs should be in jpeg/jpg form.

Incidentally I cannot locate the "Help" section,there must be one which would clear matters up.

I missed your original message and am very interested to read your account of the 2006 ceremony. It must have been very special for you.
