Just saw you need some of your chaps from Germany
A friend of mine is going there in June I think, so if I can bribe him I may be able to persuade him to take some picys, for you. It will depend on how many there are though! as I have one or two of my chaps i'm hoping he will get!!

Can you send me who you need in the following
Rheinberg
Berlin
Becklingen
Durnbach
Hamburg
Hanover
and Reichswald (I am hoping to get there myself as I have over 640 of my Airborne chaps there!)

Also I am sure that I have some pics of RAAF chaps from some Dutch cemeteries, I will have a look in the next few days

Regards

Andy

Aussies in the RAF buried in Europe 1940

I'm looking for May/June 1940 burials in the WW1 cemeteries in France and Belgium only (well, 1940 burials in general in any cemetery to be honest), mainly those associated with the battles of Wijtschaete , Amiens and Arras, though any will do (Army preferably).

Dave.
Hi Dave,

I have just finished sorting all the Aussies that died in the RAF during WW2.

There were another 202 of these to add to the nearly 11,000 RAAF that died in total.

A number of these were buried on the continent during May-June and in 1939/1940 and of course all fly boys.

Hi Andy,

Would welcome any photos you have of RAAF in the Netherlands. As well , there are another 6 who were in the RAF.

There are 375 RAAF in 98 cemeteries in the Netherlands.

There are 1400 RAAF in 9 cemeteries in Germany. Let me know where you and your mate are going and I will give you a list and you can pick what you have time to do. Any would be appreciated.

Cheers

Geoff

Send me what you have!!, including the six who were in the RAF. It may be I might have them. I had a quick look through my Holland pics yesterday and will compile a file with them all in.

I will them add any of yours to mine for my mate ( won't he be surprised?) and then we can go from there.

Any that we definitely cannot do I will let you know.

Thanks Andy,

Your mate won't be your mate for long if you send him all of mine as well!

Anyway, let me know your email by PM and I will send the spreadsheets for the Netherlands (366) and Germany (1407). Australians in the RAF are in blue.

I will be appreciative of any that you can achieve.

Cheers

Geoff

Geoff,

I've just noticed that you've got one in Munsterbilzen. That's 5 km (and 6 min) from where I work. If you need that one then I'll try to remember to take the camera with me one day.

Have you got Hasselt covered yet ? There are some RAAF there I believe and that's just down the road from where I buy my oil.

Rich
