Anyone going to Tunisia??

Well,
I emailed the CWGC a while ago and sent forms through requesting that they took a picture of my Great Uncles grave at Tabarka Ras Rajel War Cemetery but found that they were very un helpful and did not seem to care. Really i am asking if anyone is going to tabarka or anyone they know if they could take a photo of his grave...more so for my grandfather so he can see where his brother is buried. It seems that nobody goes to tunisia.

Thanks Donnie

That'll be William Howes of 5th Northamptons, 78th Div.
From Donnie's website>> Military Family Dedication |

Seems cheap enough to go to Tunisia but not really on the battlefield tourists map is it?
I went in '94 but that was a beach holiday.
A couple of Veterans staying in the hotel but never got chance to speak to them.
Maybe a place to go to get off the beaten track.
As for getting a photo, Donnie, sorry can't help.

Hi Donnie,

Let me know the grave location of your Grand-Uncle at Tabarka. It's a long-shot but I have photographs of North Irish Horse headstones on some of which the neighboriuring ones are visible.

Cheers, Gerry

From CWGC
Tabarka is a coastal town on the Tunisian/Algerian border. The war cemetery is some 12 kilometres east of the town on Route P7 to Tunis (and Beja).

From here.
Places to go, Tunis - Tunisia.

Tunis is 175 km east of Tarbarka.

He may have been away for a long trip.

Situation may have been that he could not get there. He only said he would try!

Did you try to PM him?
