Not much I can find James.

SYPO (Senior Year Projects Office)
Although you would think -- Petty Officer

LSA (Logistic Systems Analysis)

Someone else may have something more definitive.

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

While no expert on what I assume are Royal Navy rank, I would speculate:

LSA Leading Seaman Apprentice
SYPO is some sort of Petty Officer the SY refering to speciality / job

James,

I don't recognise SYPO. If correct, will be after my time.

LSA = Leading Stores Accountant.

Hugh

Hi James,
The ranks in question are:
Leading Supply Assistant (L.S.A.) and Supply Petty Officer (SY. P.O.)

I found the ratings here: Ranks, Badges and Pay in the Royal Navy in World War 2
They'd be under "Seamen and Specialist" and then "Supply" (about halfway down the page).
