![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm sure this has cropped up before somewhere. There were limited trials of larger rockets akin to the V2 from Uboats and wurfrahmen type devices were definitely used. A bit here: Hitler's Rocket U-boat Program - history of WW2 rocket submarine but I'm certain there was quite a sensible page entirely dedicated to this further example of Germany fiddling around with Wunderwaffen while the Reich burned. Cheers, Adam.

![]() | In the summer of 1945, the USN sub force had begun using rockets as a bombardment tool. From the USS Barb: Twelfth patrol, June–August 1945 Upon completion of her 11th patrol Barb was sent to the U.S. for a yard overhaul and alterations, which included the installation of five-inch (127 mm) rocket launchers. Returning to the Pacific, she commenced her 12th and final patrol on 8 June. This patrol was conducted along the coasts of the Sea of Okhotsk. For the first time in submarine warfare, Barb successfully employed rockets against the towns of Shari on Hokkaidō, and Shikuka, Kashiho, and Shiritoru on Karafuto.
