H M Submarine Tetrarch

During early November 1941 Tetrarch is thought to have struck a mine off Sicily. All hands were lost.
One of them is mentioned on a war memorial.

Petty Officer James Nelson McBride P/JX 137696

The cwgc website reports the date of loss as 2/11/1941 and that that PO McBride had been mentioned in despatches.
Can anyone help with more info regarding either the submarine or with details of how I can investigate further the 'mentioned in despatches'.
Many thanks.

I may have information!

Hello! I hope your still looking for information as by the looks of things you posted this question in January. James Nelson McBride was my husbands great Uncle and I have been looking into the circumstances of the HMS Tetrarch...If you would like to speak about this any more let me know as I am curious as to your connection with James McBride?

Perhaps you could find more by ordering copies from The National Archives of ADM1/11437 "Awards to Personnel" HM Submarine Tetrarch or ADM1/12320 Honours and Awards. H.M. Sumarines Regent,Tetrarch and Utmost.
