![]() | AA shells from main armament might've been more useful at the start of WW2 when low-level torpedo-bombing runs were the order of the day. The Pacific War seems to've shown everybody that iron bombs dropped by dive- or conventional bombing techniques were at least as effective if not more so, and indeed most later sinkings by aircraft seem to have used these methods. With main armament rarely able to elevate over 30 degrees, it's pretty hard to imagine it performing a useful role in those conditions. Regards, MikB |
