No, the date of the crash is the 19th and not the 17th as mentioned by the man who witnessed the crash

Just this last week I've been in contact with a friend of this gentleman who was asking about the crash, on his behalf. I was able to send him the following:

Horsa Chalk Number 126, piloted by Staff Sergeant Ronald Osborn and Sergeant Norman Whitehouse, was part of the Third Lift (19th Sept) and had flown from Tarrant Rushton. It carried a jeep, six-pounder anti-tank gun and two crew members from the Polish Anti-Tank Battery (Maslorz and Nowak).

The query had also been sent to other friends and colleagues and these additions were sent by one of them:

The tug was a Halifax Mk. V. with call sign P ‘A’ SLM, flown by Pilot Officer McConville from 644 Squadron RAF. The passengers were Artillery Sergeant Piotr P. Maslorz and Gunner Kazimierz Nowak. Osborn was buried in a communal grave along with his co-pilot and the two Polish passengers in the RC section of the General Cemetery at St. Michielsgestel, communal grave 1-4.

That ties up with the Dutch gentleman saying he helped the priest at St Michielsgestel bury the bodies. He said that officially there were 4 but he was definate in his burying 6, Perhaps 2 of them were not from the glider.

I am hoping for some more info from Holland within the week.

Your reference to his officially saying there were only four is interesting. According to his friend, he was definite on six. My theory is that the other two were not in the glider but may have died as a result of its crashing.
