Re: Identifying Army matériel

A Sapper or SAS accessory?

The engineers in the US navy used to make these on board their ships when things were a bit quiet however it was a greater guage. Can't remember the name -Kulo or Bulo?????

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

I think I might have to give you that Spidge, It is in fact a 'Smatchet',
SMATCHET
designed by Fairbairn as a cross between a 'bolo' and a machete... I've seen a claim it also derives from a Welsh machine-gunners knife of ww1 but I don't know what such a knife might look like.

Over to you.

B*gger.
I must have looked at every other fighting knife except that one!
Then once you gave the answer, it was a ...."oh yeah!I remember now."moment. Something I read about 30 years ago in one of my old comics.
