![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There is something very eerie about that Seelow Footage. Contrast that to some films at the start of the war and look at the Tank Crews - At the beginning of the war they are all men, in that Seelow Footage they are all boys. Tell ya what guys, Having stood on the top of the Heights looking down on the OderBrucke I would put money that those guys must have been really scared.

![]() | What gave you the impression thiose were really the Seelow Heights? Because of the title? All you see are some StuHs and StuGs, rolling terrin, nothing else. The problem with the S.H. was they were thickly wooded, tortuous terrain, perfect for defence.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The immediate area around the Heights Za are thickly wooded but there is wide open spaces behind Seelow Town itself. The approaches to the town are wide open Tank Country, which is why once the Heights were taken the Russians were able to move quickly towards the city. Also it should be pointed out that the Russians held part of the Heights before the Battle. If the film is valid, and judging by the youth of the tank crews its not entirely implausible, then it could be the approaches to the town rather than the Heights themselves
