I'm back!

Well guys I made it back safe and sound from the Capital of Germany and what a city. It’s a fantastic place for sure. I will have some photos to put up later in the week once I resize them but I visited many places including amongst others:
Headquarters of the OKH, Bendlerstrasse (Now called Stauffenberg Strasse)

The ruins of Gestapo HQ Prinz Albrecht Strasse
<O</O
The site of the New Reich Chancellery and the Bunker
<O</O
The <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comSeelow Heights and Zhukov’s Command Post
<O</O
The Town of Halbe(Where 25,000 Germans broke through Russian Lines fleeing towards the West)
<O</O
Soviet War Memorial at Brandenburg Gate
<O</O
Various Cemetaries
<O</O
<O</O
The location of the Signing of the cessation of hostilities in Karlshorst
<O</O
There are some fascinating exhibitions to be seen about the war and I would seriously recommend anyone with an interest in the Third Reich to go there

I've only been there once but I could feel the History of the place.
It was all around. Very strong and powerful sense of it.
Never felt like that in a city before.

VP, I defy Anyone to stand in front of the Brandenburg Gate and not feel a shiver down your spine. I have always had this image from the World at War when Goebbels sent the Volksturrm through the Gate out towards the russians and it came straight back to me. A lot of buildings still bear the marks of a battle, bullet holes and the like. Although many of the old Buildings that are associated with the Nazis are gone you can still sense the presence. One of the nicest things that I saw was that the Berlin Bunker is now the location of a playground for children. From the Roots of Evil Goodness springs forth!!

I've been to Berlin several times and as with all major Capital Cities (Although it wasn#t the West German Capital first time I went) it is full of historic buildings that are familier from phot and film. I have to admit I haven't had a battlefield tour of the place and it's surroundings but I have been in several of the old German Bks, visited the sights around the city, etc. The British Berlin Brigade had it's Headquarters in the grounds of the Olympic Stadium which was quite impressive so they had some of the best sports facilities in the city, together with some impressive statues. I was never actually posted there but I did enjoy my visits.
