CTNana is an unknown quantity at this point
Owen hope this is helpful but sometimes (if it is appropriate to ask) it is cheaper to book the flights in Hungary rather than here. I also think that many of the systems will ignore the cheaper flights if you book returns. I am given to understand that it is better to book the outgoing and return flights as separate entities. Hope you get to go; it is such a beautiful city at any time.

We could afford it if we went Thursday as that has cheaper flights.
Problem is us both geting more time off work (ha ha) and leaving the three children at grandparents for 3 or 4 nights and getting them to school too.
Then add £100+ for hotels in Budapest.
It really looks a non-starter now.
Really annoying as I'm waiting for "After The Battle" Issue 40 to come in the post. The Budapest issue.
If only we'd booked in January.

It's booked we're going!!
All of us over here told our mate we couldn't afford it. +/- £500 , too much.
Meant he'd only have 2 of his brothers going.
He spent ages on the net finding some better deals.
Everyone who said they'd go is now going.
Even us.
All staying in same hotel then the wedding in the Castle.
What's more ALL on his Credit Card, just owe him £299 now, that is everthing including taxes & 4 star hotel.
Now to await arrival of ATB magazine.

ATB issue 40 arrived today.
Some excellent pictures for me to look up in our breif visit in Sept.
Thanks VP for the heads up on that.
Bit dissappointed it about the German Operation Magarethe in 44 rather than the battle in 45.
Still good though.
As JPP was there in 1882 when the Iron Curtain was still up, he did all his NOW shots using traced outlines as he didn't want to take his THEN photos of German kit, insignia etc to a Communist country as risk trouble with the Authorities.

Latest in the saga.
Mate emailed the flight confirmation to me.
Two problems.
Wrong flight time home and as ID I need his Credit Card.
So I've just booked flights with correct times with my card and he now has to get a refund for the tickets he bought for us, which we couldn't use anyway.
AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH H!!!

At least I know where hotel is now, time to consult the Battle of Budapest maps.

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)
